The Pemberton Greenish Academy Young Player of the Year for 2011, Freddie van den Bergh has just signed his first summer contract with Surrey.
A traditional left arm spinner, van den Bergh was a Second XI regular throughout 2011 as well as impressing for the PG Academy and his club side Banstead CC.
He is currently in his first year at Durham University and has therefore signed a summer contract with Surrey, meaning he will combine his studies with the start of his professional career, as well as gaining experience with the highly rated Durham MCCU side.
