Surrey CCC can today announce that the Clydesdale Bank 40 match between Surrey and the Welsh Dragons at the Kia Oval on Tuesday August 21st will be a tribute match to batsman Tom Maynard.
Maynard, who played for both Glamorgan and Surrey, tragically died last month. His funeral will be held at Llandaff Cathedral this Wednesday (July 4th).
Exact details for the game are still to be confirmed but the occasion will give players, staff and fans from both counties the opportunity to pay their own personal tributes to Tom.
The game on August 21st is due to start at 3.40pm – with the action also due to be televised live on Sky Sports.
