Team Director Chris Adams has named a thirteen man squad for Surrey’s Friends Life t20 game against the Essex Eagles at Chelmsford.
Gareth Batty will captain the side in the absence of Rory Hamilton-Brown who has been given compassionate leave by the club.
Jade Dernbach and Stuart Meaker are unavailable due to their England selection for the third NatWest One Day International against the West Indies. Gary Wilson is also unavailable for selection as he is part of the Ireland squad that will take on Australia in Belfast on Saturday.
Chris Adams commented: “It has obviously been an incredibly difficult few days for the club and the players but this game against the Essex Eagles is a step back into some sort of routine.
“Playing cricket is what we do and tonight will give the players a sense of normality in such a tragic situation.”
