Team Director Chris Adams has named a thirteen man squad for the LV=County Championship match against Nottinghamshire starting on Wednesday at Trent Bridge.
Matthew Spriegel is included in a Championship squad for the first time this year. Surrey go into the game occupying seventh place in the table having drawn their last match against Lancashire at Guildford. Nottinghamshire drew their last game against Middlesex and sit second in Division One just a point behind Warwickshire.
Chris Adams commented:” This will be a real test of our young squad at Trent Bridge but it is one they are relishing as we now enter a critical period of the season . I thought we played some good cricket in patches against Lancashire but we need to find consistency in our performance.
For the younger players games like this one against Nottinghamshire are a massive opportunity and we go to Trent Bridge with confidence. Nottinghamshire have proved over a number of seasons what a good side they are and they will provide us with a thorough examination. It is a challenge we are really looking forward to”.
