Although he combines his burgeoning career with his studies at Cambridge University, Zafar Ansari has already made a big impact.
Brought straight into the FLt20 side after the completion of the summer term at Cambridge, Ansari immediately impressed with his athletic fielding, level headed batting and economical left arm spin.
During his first season the PG Academy graduate won Surrey a crucial LV= County Championship game with Kent by bowling Robert Key round his legs and impressed to such an extent in limited overs cricket that he won a starting spot in the CB40 Final at Lord’s, justifying his inclusion with 1/28 from five overs and some superb boundary fielding in front of the Mound Stand.
