2018 T20 Fixtures Announced

Published: 28th November, 2017

Surrey’s fixtures in the 2018 T20 Blast have been confirmed, with the season opener at the Kia Oval to take place on Friday 6th July against Kent.

The Spitfires are the first of three Friday night visitors to the Kia Oval, followed by Somerset on Friday 27th July and London rivals Middlesex on the 3rd August, in what will be the 100th T20 ever staged at the ground. In 2017, four of Surrey’s home T20 Blast fixtures were sell outs, and the 2017 Kent fixture became the earliest T20 sell-out in the ground’s history.

Surrey start the campaign away to Middlesex at Lord’s on Thursday 5th July, before the Kent home game the next day (6th July) and then Essex at the Kia Oval on the following Thursday (12th July). Gareth Batty’s side then travel to Hove to face Sussex on Friday 13th July, and then continue their campaign in Canterbury against Kent on Friday 20th July, before returning to the Kia Oval on Friday 27th July to host Somerset.

The first game to sell out in 2017 was a midweek fixture, and Surrey end the month of July on Tuesday 31st at home to Glamorgan before kick-starting August with the eagerly anticipated Friday night against Middlesex on the 3rd August. The T20 London Derby has sold out at the Kia Oval every year since 2014, and is guaranteed to be played in front of a sold out yet again. With such high demand, a ticket ballot is open for fans to give themselves the best chance of securing tickets for the capital’s most anticipated cricket fixture.

The Blast then continues away at Essex on Sunday 5th August, before the penultimate home fixture at the Kia Oval on Thursday 9th August against Sussex. A road trip to Somerset on Friday 10th August is followed by a visit to Bristol to face Gloucestershire on Sunday 12th August, before returning to the home of T20 cricket – the Kia Oval – for the final 20-over regular season game at the ground on Wednesday 15th August against Hampshire.

Surrey will end their T20 season away in Cardiff against Glamorgan on Friday 17th August, with the knockout stages of the competition set to take place between the 23rd and 26th August. Finals Day, in which two semi-finals and the final of the T20 Blast are played, will take place at Edgbaston on Saturday 15th September.
