Hands up who has booked their tickets for the home of T20 cricket in 2019? 🙋‍♂️

The first of those matches is the biggest of the lot; the London Derby against arch rivals Middlesex on Tuesday 23rd July. The corresponding fixture last season saw an incredible partnership of 194 between Aaron Finch and Jason Roy as they chased down the visitors’ 221 with ease thanks to a phenomenal display of clean hitting.

That fixture is Surrey’s second of their 2019 season, after an opening trip to Essex, and part of the bumper fortnight that sees six T20 matches.

Just two days after that crunch Middlesex clash, barely enough time to catch your breath, the visitors to the home of T20 cricket will be Glamorgan who are always the fiercest of competitors against Surrey at the Kia Oval. Taking place on Thursday 25th July, this one is sure to attract plenty of attention from families celebrating the arrival of the summer holidays.

When it comes to T20 matches at the Kia Oval, Surrey are yet to beat the Welsh county in seven attempts with the Cardiff-based Club winning six of the matches. Make sure you’re there to see if Surrey can get over the line against Glamorgan for the first time.

After a trip to Sussex the following night, the Kia Oval’s frantic introduction to the T20 season is completed when Kent, Surrey’s oldest rivals, visit on Tuesday 30th July. Joe Denly scored a century and took a hat-trick in last year’s clash between the teams so Surrey are out for revenge in the upcoming match.

Where Surrey find themselves after those five matches could dictate how the season will go from there and with talent like Aaron Finch, Jason Roy, Sam Curran, Ben Foakes & captain Jade Dernbach in our ranks, the sky could well be the limit.

Members and previous T20 buyers at the Kia Oval currently have priority access to tickets for this summer’s Vitality Blast fixtures with early-bird tickets for the general public set to go on sale in due course.

We’ll be back next week to look in detail at another period of the season which will get you dreaming of the cricket season. 2019 Memberships are available now!
