Surrey’s 2nd XI fixtures for the 2020 season have been confirmed.
With nine four-day fixtures in the Second XI Championship and 10 group stage T20 matches before a potential final at Arundel, there are plenty of opportunities for those involved to build form and stake their claim for the first team.
Surrey’s second XI season begins in a red-ball clash at Middlesex, with the venue still to be confirmed, on April 20th – the day after the Club’s County Championship campaign gets underway at The Kia Oval.
The ground at LSE New Malden will be our home for the campaign with entry free for all spectators to all matches. A number of away venues are still to be confirmed but keep an eye on the fixtures page on kiaoval.com, which will be updated as soon as venues are confirmed.
Jamie Smith’s six to take him to his 150 in the Second XI Championship won the Anne Bickerstaff Champagne Moment for the 2nd XI in 2019. That was one of five centuries Surrey hit in red-ball 2nd XI cricket in 2019 with two coming from Smith and one each for Jordan Clark, Zen Malik and Freddie van den Bergh.
Amar Virdi was Surrey’s most prolific bowler in the red-ball matches last year, taking 19 wickets from seven matches picking up another six in T20 cricket.
