David Balcombe has chatted to Surrey TV this week about his return to the Kia Oval and coming back to his “boyhood club”.
Balcombe graduated from the Pemberton Greenish Surrey Academy in 2003 and eleven years later he has come home after signing a two year contract.
Speaking to Mark Church the 29 year old fast bowler commented:” I had all those years in the Surrey youth system and the Academy. To get the opportunity to come back is absolutely fantastic because Surrey is my boyhood club”.
Looking ahead to the winter Balcombe says he is relishing the chance to get into the dressing room with his teammates. “I obviously grew up with half the dressing room,” he said “but I need to find my feet and get settled. It is exciting times for the club and I am very happy to be back and part of it all”.
