Club captain Rory Burns believes his England teammate Ollie Pope is one of the best batsmen ever to have played for Surrey.
Burns named the middle-order man, just 21 years old, in his Greatest XI alongside his childhood heroes Mark Butcher and Graham Thorpe and current Director of Cricket Alec Stewart.
Another of his current teammates to make the team is South African legend Morne Morkel while masterful batsman Kumar Sangakkara and spinning all-rounder Zafar Ansari are the most recent retirees that make the cut.
