Surrey Chairman Richard Thompson has announced that Members’ beer prices will be cut to £2 a pint for the first day of the Specsavers County Championship match against Essex at the Kia Oval.
After Surrey won the County Championship at New Road yesterday, the one day offer – which will apply only for Surrey Members on Monday September 24th – is a hark back to the famous day in club history when Surrey won the 1999 County Championship and bar prices were cut to 1971 levels, the last time Surrey had won the Championship.
To help celebrate 🎉 being 2018 County Champions 🏆 All Surrey CCC members will be able to enjoy 2002 beer prices ( £2 a pint) as that’s when we last won The Championship. This will apply on day 1 of our our final game against Essex on 24th Sept’ @surreycricket#Surreyfamily

Surrey will take on Essex in the club’s final home game of the season, from Monday September 24th to Thursday September 27th – and with the title already secured the game is set to be very enjoyable for everyone connected to the club.
As well as the End of Season Awards on the evening of Wednesday September 26th – for which tickets are still available priced at only £10 – the game will conclude with the presentation of the famous County Championship trophy, which will be lifted by a Surrey captain for the first time in 16 years.
