Saturday 17th March saw the fourth Surrey Cricket Foundation Club Conference take place at the Kia Oval.
With more than 125 representatives from cricket clubs across Surrey and South London, the conference saw a range of workshops and keynote speeches delivered to support the various needs of clubs around the county.
Starting with welcome speeches delivered by Surrey Cricket Foundation Chairman Simon Dyson and Director of Cricket Participation Paul Taylor, who delivered the announcement that all clubs, 48 in total, who applied to the ECB Small Grant Scheme in 2018 and met the criteria, received the funding that they had all requested.

A total of nearly £150,000 worth of grants delivering over £200,000 of facility improvements at clubs.
The conference featured 10 workshops across the day including ‘GDPR – What You Need to Know About the New Laws’, ‘Juniors and Beyond – Transition to Adult Cricket’ and ‘Programme Planning for Coaches’ in which delegates were able to choose which workshops to attend.
Director of Cricket Participation, Paul Taylor, said “Despite the weather we have had a fantastic turnout from the clubs whose feedback during the day has been excellent.
“By hosting these types of events, we are trying to support and improve as many clubs as we possibly can by passing on relevant information in the workshops.
“The marketplace of companies then provided a unique networking opportunity for all attendees which added huge value to the day.”
