Creating New History: Performances

Published: 3rd December, 2018

In the second instalment of our weekly series looking at Surrey’s historic Specsavers County Championship title, we review some of the most memorable performances throughout the season.

After an in-depth look at the culture cultivated by Captain Rory Burns in latest week’s premiere, we move on this Monday to discuss five special victories that took us to our 20th Championship title.

Members of the squad, coaching staff and watching media talk us through their memories of Surrey defeating Yorkshire at both Scarborough and the Kia Oval as well as home wins against Somerset and Lancashire and an away win at Trent Bridge.

Alec Stewart, Morne Morkel, Ollie Pope, Sam Curran, Rikki Clarke & BBC commentator Mark Church are just some of the people we hear from this week.

Click on the video below to reminisce on a glorious Surrey summer.

Come back at the same time next Monday as we reflect on how Surrey’s players fared in the international game this year.
