Sam Curran, Tom Curran & Jason Roy have all been named in both of England’s white-ball squads for their tour of South Africa in February 2020.
Sam will remain in South Africa following the Test series and will be joined by both Tom and Jason for the three ODI matches, which start on 4 February. The three-match T20I series follows quickly on its heels, beginning on 12 February.
This will be the first time that England have played in the 50-over format since their memorable ICC Men’s World Cup triumph in July. Eight players remain from the World Cup squad including Roy, who was a regular throughout that tournament, and Tom Curran.
While Sam is a feature in the Test and T20I squads, he will be looking to make his first ODI appearance since October 2018 on this tour.
Commenting on the selection of the squad, National Selector Ed Smith, said: “These two squads were selected with an eye on the T20 World Cup in Australia in 2020.
“In the T20s, a number of players who were rested for the successful 3-2 victory in New Zealand return to the squad: Jos Buttler, Jofra Archer, Ben Stokes, Moeen Ali and Jason Roy.
