Family fun planned on Surrey Stars Sunday

Published: 13th July, 2019

International stars will come head-to-head when Surrey Stars meet Western Storm at Guildford CC on Sunday 25th August but that’s not all that’s on offer!

A free coaching session, a chance to meet your favourite players, music, giveaways and plenty to eat and drink await when the 2017 champions visit the reigning holders of the Kia Super League during this August Bank Holiday.

Hone your skills with a varied session from dedicated and qualified Surrey Cricket Foundation coaches on the famous Guildford outfield between 10:30am and 12:30pm.

The action on the pitch (2:30pm start) will not only be a crunch match that could decide who reaches the 1 September Finals Day, it will be a highly skilled affair.

England captain Heather Knight and 2017 World Cup hero Anya Shrubsole are in the Storm setup while 2017 Wisden Cricketer of the Year Nat Sciver, lightning quick wicket keeper Sarah Taylor, expert spinner Laura Marsh and young gun Bryony Smith will line up for the Stars.

In terms of internationals from around the world, the South African trio of Marizanne Kapp, Lizelle Lee & Dane van Niekerk were crucial in last year’s triumph for the Stars. They will come up against last year’s top run scorer Smriti Mandhana, West Indies all-rounder Stafanie Taylor and New Zealand wicket keeper Rachel Priest.

Once the game has come to its thrilling conclusion, you will have the chance to meet all of your favourite players and get a photograph with the likes of Sciver and Taylor to remember your day out!

With tickets just £5 for adults and £1 for U16s, what better way is there to spend a Bank Holiday Sunday?
