Big hitting Australian Aaron Finch has signed a new two year T20 deal with Surrey CCC – committing him to the Kia Oval until the end of 2019.
Finch has played T20 for Surrey for the last two years, forming a dominant opening partnership with Jason Roy as he has plundered 748 runs at an average of 41.55.
In 2017 he became the only Surrey player other than Roy to blast a T20 hundred, hitting an unbeaten 114 off 64 balls as Surrey blew past Sussex at the Kia Oval.
An experienced international T20 star, Finch is a regular for Australia, and has featured in both the IPL and Australian BBL.
Speaking after signing the deal, Finch said: “I’m absolutely thrilled to be back at Surrey. I have enjoyed my time there these past few seasons and am really looking forward to reuniting with the lads and looking forward to a successful summer.”
Alec Stewart, Surrey CCC Director of Cricket, added: “Aaron Finch is one of the leading T20 batsmen in the game and to have secured his services for a further two seasons is great news.
“His opening partnership with Jason Roy is amongst the most destructive in world cricket and he is now very much an integral part of our dressing room.”
