Arun Harinath and Jamie Smith both hit centuries before Surrey 2nds declared on the second day of their three-day match with Hampshire at LSE New Malden.
After Hampshire added to their overnight score of 353/5 to declare on 450/8, Harinath and Smith led the Surrey response with triple figure scores of their own.
With both sides looking for more red ball practice, Surrey then declared on 250/2 before Ian Holland and George Munsey reached stumps on 65/0.
Responding to Hampshire’s first innings, Harinath opened the batting alongside Nick Welch. Although Welch was bowled for 17 and Ryan Patel was caught on 0 shortly after, that brought Harinath and Smith together.
Experienced opener Harinath ended his innings on 104 not out off 193 balls with 16 fours on the way while Smith finished unbeaten on 105 from 170 deliveries with 13 fours and one six.
Earlier in the day, Hampshire’s top scorer Felix Organ reached 189 before Gus Atkinson had him caught behind by wicket keeper Jamie Smith. The eight Hampshire wickets were shared between seven bowlers with Stuart Meaker the only to take more than one.
Matt Dunn, Ryan Patel, Atkinson, George Barlow, Freddie Boys and Amar Virdi all had one wicket each.
