Jacks: I’m finding a consistent rhythm

Surrey’s Will Jacks now believes he is finding the rhythm required to be a consistent match winner in T20 cricket with both bat and ball.

Jacks was speaking after a century opening stand with Hashim Amla that did most of the damage in the 30 run victory over Middlesex at Lord’s – a win that takes Surrey to the top of the South Group with three games remaining.

Will Jacks said: “We are really happy. We knew a win today could take us top, so it was an important game with having a couple of teams on our tail.

“I’m always more than happy to watch Hashim bat all day. He got me into the partnership where I didn’t have to take too many risks too early.

Once we got going we talked about it being a really good pitch and therefore needing a good score.

“I’ve been up and down in T20 over the years, but I feel I’m getting into a bit of a rhythm and developing an understanding of what I need to do to be more consistent.”
