Lee and Taylor Go Big In Second Women’s ODI

Published: 13th June, 2018

Surrey Stars batsmen Lizelle Lee and Sarah Taylor both scored centuries as England won the second Women’s One-Day International against South Africa at Hove.

Taylor made 118 off 106 balls as England racked up a huge 331/6 off their 50 overs before opener Lee scored 117 from 107 deliveries in the South Africa response that ultimately fell short, finishing on 262/9.

With Nat Sciver (6), Dane van Niekerk (9) and Marizanne Kapp (29) also contributing, that meant Surrey Stars batsmen scored 47.05% of the match between two of the six best sides in the world.

There were also four wickets shared between two Surrey Stars bowlers as Kapp claimed match figures of 2/48 before spinner Laura Marsh ended with 2/53 for England in the second innings of the match.

You can see all six players in this match playing for the Surrey Stars in this year’s Kia Super League campaign, which begins against the Southern Vipers on Sunday 22 July. Click here to book your tickets for all Surrey home matches at Guildford and the Kia Oval.
