Surrey bowler Conor McKerr has joined Derbyshire on a one month loan.
McKerr will be available for selection in Derbyshire’s County Championship Division Two match with Nottinghamshire, starting on Friday.
Surrey Director of Cricket Alec Stewart said: “It’s a great opportunity for Conor. We wish him the best of luck as and when he makes his first-class debut.”
The 19-year-old has been a regular in Surrey’s Second XI so far this season with his most recent appearance coming in the two-day friendly with Middlesex that began on Tuesday.
The highlight of the South African right-armer’s 2017 so far came in the 2nd XI Championship victory over Gloucestershire earlier this month when he claimed five wickets for just 25 runs in the first innings.
McKerr will now be hoping to feature for Derbyshire in their three first-class matches in June, starting with their trip to Trent Bridge on Friday. Derbyshire will then travel to Northamptonshire before ending the month at Glamorgan’s SWALEC Stadium.
Derbyshire currently sit in ninth in Division Two of the County Championship having drawn one and lost three matches so far in this campaign.
