Ollie Pope has been called up to join the England squad as cover for Jason Roy ahead of the third Ashes Test at Headingley on Thursday.
Roy was hit on the head while netting with England on Tuesday and will face a concussion test before play begins on Thursday morning. Pope will now act as standby for his Surrey teammate in Leeds.
It comes after Pope went to 221 not out against Hampshire at The Kia Oval on Wednesday in his first Specsavers County Championship since dislocating his left shoulder in April.

The 21-year-old now averages 65.83 in 22 first-class matches for Surrey having scored six centuries.
His England Test debut came in August 2018 in the second match between England and India and he kept his place for the third Test.
He is yet to add to those two Test appearances but after a winter with the England Lions and a first-class best of 251 in the Champion County match against the MCC, he came into the season in fine form.
As well as Roy, Pope will join fellow Surrey Academy graduates and current teammates Rory Burns and Sam Curran at Headingley.
