Surrey Social – Dogs, Taches, Flights and Drones

Another week of the Surrey Social, so let’s see what our squad – still split between the Kia Oval and cricket grounds around the world – have been up to.

From moustache twirling in Staines, trans-Pacific flight and drone flying in Antigua to football chat in north London, it’s been a varied a week as ever for the Surrey team!

Off spinner Amar Virdi started the week with some seriously good moustache twirling in Staines!

Whilst fast bowler Conor McKerr was enjoying the arrival at the Kia Oval of new bowling boots for the 2018 summer!


And Mark Stoneman started his week back at the Kia Oval for the first time since his Ashes trip earlier in the winter

Whilst Ollie Pope started his week on the other side of the world, presenting his passport at Sydney Airport

Stoneman at Fulham

Before Newcastle fan Stoneman joined Ben Foakes at Fulham v Sheffield United on Tuesday night


On Wednesday, all rounder Rikki Clarke, a huge Spurs fan, was keenly anticipating their Champions League clash with Juventus on Wednesday night.

And Chelsea fan Alec Stewart then joined forces with Arsenal fan Jade Dernbach to enjoy Tottenham’s defeat in said Champions League clash!

Better Pope with Dog

Whilst Pope had made it home – reunited with his beloved dog in Surrey!

Later in the week T20 opener Aaron Finch reminisced about playing junior cricket to celebrate the re-opening of the Junction Oval in Melbourne

And in Antigua, Sam Curran became the latest Surrey player to use drones to explore his exotic location

Whilst back in Windsor, Amar Virdi wondered what was going through his dog’s mind as he took it out from some regular exercise

Bryony Smith thanked Surrey Chairman Richard Thompson for his Twitter congratulations on her maiden England call up

In New Zealand, Stuart Meaker played 18 holes in Howick

Pope Back at Oval

And Ollie Pope’s week concluded with him returning home to the Kia Oval for the first time since October

Amar Virdi returned later in the week to celebrate International Women’s Day by highlighting the special women in his life

And new Surrey Star Sarah Taylor used the day to thank fans that paid tribute to the impact she’d had on their life
