Surrey entertain Sussex in a double-header of T20 action at the Kia Oval on Sunday, and will be set on getting back to winning ways.

Following two defeats in a row in the NatWest T20 Blast, Gareth Batty’s Surrey will be determined to secure victory and edge closer to a quarter-final spot in the competition.

Sussex are one place above Surrey in the South Group of the NatWest T20 Blast, though are on equal points with a game in hand, making the fixture a must win for both sides.

The last time the two sides faced each other, Sussex were victorious by eight wickets having restricted Surrey to just 148.

Here’s four facts to know before Surrey take on Sussex:

  • Sussex Sharks earned an eight-wicket win when these teams met earlier in August, and will now be looking for multiple wins against Surrey in a single calendar year for the first time since 2009.
  • Surrey have won their last three home games against the Sharks, last losing such a fixture in July 2012.
  • Surrey have won six of their last eight home matches (L2), including a victory over the Sharks in that time.
  • Moises Henriques (Surrey) is 13 runs away from reaching 3,000 in T20 cricket.

Tickets are still available for Surrey v Sussex at the Kia Oval, a double header of T20 action with the Surrey Stars – featuring four England World Cup Winners – host Yorkshire Diamonds after the men’s NatWest T20 Blast fixture.
