Surrey CCC will be working with Reigate Priory CC and Roehampton CC as part of this year’s NatWest Cricket Force.
Surrey will be providing a large voluntary workforce of staff and players in Reigate on Friday April 4th, helping the club construct their new Pavilion and also working on other associated projects.
The club will also be helping Roehampton on another day in April, sending a separate workforce to South West London to assist with work their new Pavilion project.
Speaking this week, former England seamer Paul Taylor – now Surrey CCC Director of Cricket Development – said: “We’ll be looking to recruit a team from the Kia Oval – supplying both a workforce and a catering unit!
“Reigate Priory have a list of 23 projects they plan to deliver on that day. The power of NatWest Cricket Force is that we can potentially deliver them all on that day – which is fantastic for the club and obviously very rewarding for the people who take part.
“Last year we got 20 odd people down to Blackheath CC where we helped to lay around 600 square metres of turf on an outfield that had previously been ruined by building contractors.
“It’s a fantastic day that has gone from strength to strength in recent years.”
