Jason Roy and Rory Burns dominated the second day of Surrey’s 2nd XI game against Hampshire at Guildford. They shared a 4th wicket partnership of 321 with Roy making a double century and Burns a century as the Surrey enjoyed an excellent day at Woodbridge Road.
Replying to Hampshire’s 377 Arun Harinath (41) and Gary Wilson (48) started the day in good fashion but after their dismissals Roy and Burns took over. Roy struck 28 boundaries during his time at the crease including four maximums until he was eventually dismissed for 202. Burns moved to an accomplished hundred and was eventually out for 120 and Surrey were dismissed for 520.
The Surrey bowlers will be looking to make an impact on the final morning at Guildford and early wickets could see a push for victory against Hampshire on the final afternoon.
