Specsavers County Championship Division One 2018
Surrey trail Nottinghamshire by 62 runs with 9 wickets remaining
An experienced opening batsman who joined Surrey from Durham for the 2017 season which resulted in an England Test call-up.
With over 7,000 first-class runs and over 3,000 more in white ball cricket, Stoneman is one of the most proven performers on the county circuit and brings a great deal of nous and know how to the Surrey top order.
A former England U17 and U19 batsman, Stoneman still holds ambitions to reach the highest level of the international game, which he hopes will be realised by once again combining with his former mentor and opening partner Michael di Venuto.
On debut for Surrey, Stoneman hit 165 against Warwickshire in the 2017 Specsavers County Championship season opener at the Kia Oval. His performances for Surrey in the 2017 season earned him an England call-up, and a place on England’s Ashes tour of 2017/18.
