ONE HALF OF SURREY’S FIRST-CLASS OPENING PARTNERSHIP, RORY BURNS IS AN EXCITING YOUNG BATSMAN CAPABLE OF SCORING BIG RUNS.

A graduate of the Surrey Academy and Banstead CC, Burns has formed a strong opening partnership with Zafar Ansari and was an ever present throughout the summer of 2014 and repaid the faith shown in him by producing over 1,000 first-class runs.

The LV= County Championship Breakthrough Player of the Year in 2013, Burns is also very capable behind the stumps, although has found his opportunities to don the gloves limited by Surrey’s plethora of options in that position.
