His stand out moment to date came during the Guildford victory over Somerset in 2018 when he claimed five wickets in 11 balls, ending with figures of 6/5 and a first-class record to boot.
His versatility with the bat; operating as an opener right through the middle order and down to eight, as well as his right-arm medium pace saw him play 10 matches as Surrey went on to win the Specsavers County Championship. 2019 saw Ryan score his maiden first-class century for the Club.
After a shortened season in 2020, Patel will be looking forward to a more complete calendar in 2021.
