AN EXCITING YOUNG ALL ROUNDER, TOM CURRAN MADE AN BIG IMPACT AT A YOUNG AGE DURING THE FIRST HALF OF 2014.

The right arm fast bowler, also a very capable batsman, took 19 first-class wickets and also impressed in the NatWest T20 Blast before having the second half of his summer ruined by a succession of injuries.

Curran, the son of late Zimbabwe and Northamptonshire all rounder Kevin, was originally spotted playing schools cricket in South Africa by former Surrey captain Ian Greig, now working in Australian schools cricket, who recommended him to Surrey Academy Director Gareth Townsend.

He made his first-class debut for Surrey against Essex at the Kia Oval in 2013 and went on to take 5/34 against Scotland in a One Day match two days later.
