Player Bio

ENGLAND PACE BOWLER TOM CURRAN HAS BECOME A KEY PLAYER FOR SURREY SINCE HIS DEBUT IN 2013.

The right arm fast bowler, also a very capable batsman, opens the bowling across all formats and has proven adept at adding vital lower order runs when called upon. Curran, the son of late Zimbabwe and Northamptonshire all rounder Kevin, was originally spotted playing schools cricket in South Africa by former Surrey captain Ian Greig who recommended him to Surrey Academy Director Gareth Townsend.

He made his first-class debut for Surrey against Essex at the Kia Oval in 2013 and went on to take 5/34 against Scotland in a One Day match two days later. His continued form for The Rey saw England honours come in all three formats in 2017 and he has since gone on to be one of England’s go-to bowlers at both ends of a white-ball innings.

A maiden First Class century came at Northamptonshire in scintillating style. Tom scored 115 in 93 balls – two runs shy of dad Kevin’s best at Wantage Road.
