Surrey duo Dominic Sibley and Jack Winslade have been named in the England squad to contest the U19 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates next month.
The pair are in a fifteen man squad that will depart on January 31st before beginning with a game against the hosts, UAE, at the Zayed Cricket Stadium on February 14th before going on to play further group matches against Sri Lanka (February 16th) and New Zealand (February 18th) in Dubai.
As with the senior World Cup, all matches will be played over 50 overs. If they succeed in progressing from their group, England could meet one of fifteen other countries in the knock out stage. Should they succeed in making it all the way to the final, this will be played on March 1st.
EDP Head Selector David Graveney said: “This squad contains an exciting mix of young talent which we look forward to seeing perform on the world stage against top class opposition.
“It will be an excellent experience for these young players to develop their games in a world class environment, competing at the highest level in this prestigious tournament.”
