Surrey CCC are very happy to announce the agreement of a charity partnership with the Lambeth based Evelina London Children’s Hospital.
The partnership will see the club raising money and awareness for the hospital with a number of events throughout the year. Full details of the fundraising events will be announced in due course.
Evelina London, based on the St Thomas’ Hospital site just up the road from the Kia Oval, cares for children and young people from across south London and south east England. It offers a unique range of services from antenatal diagnosis through to childhood and into adolescence. Evelina London also supports children in the local community and in their homes.
Speaking this week, Surrey CCC Chief Executive Richard Gould said: “Partnering with a local hospital such as Evelina London allows the club to focus on making a genuine difference to one of the most valuable organisations in our local community.
“As a club, we are keenly aware of our unique location in the heart of central London – whilst still ensuring we represent the wider county of Surrey. Working with a world class hospital such as Evelina London, which is situated a stone’s throw from the ground but treats children from across the south of England, seems like a very appropriate fit.
“We hope we can make a real difference.”
Grenville Fox, joint clinical director of Evelina London Children’s Hospital, says: “We’re very excited that Surrey CCC has chosen to support Evelina London Children’s Hospital.
“We care for around 50,000 children each year in our hospital and in the community. Fundraising support helps us to carry out life-changing research and treat our patients using latest medical equipment.”
