Surrey Women’s fixtures for the 2020 campaign have been confirmed by the ECB, with nine T20 matches including a Kia Oval London Cup clash with Middlesex to come.
After two friendlies with Kent, Surrey will begin their ECB T20 Division One campaign on Friday 8th May in Wales with a double header against Wales and Birmingham.
Then comes that Kia Oval meeting with Middlesex on Wednesday 20th May. The official start time is yet to be finalised but Head Coach Richard Bedbrook will be keen to win back the London Cup after a rain-affected loss at Lord’s in 2019 on what was an historic occasion – the first women’s county match played on the main pitch at The Home of Cricket.
Following that, Surrey will turn their focus back to the Vitality T20 competition with an away day against Kent and Sussex on Monday 25th May. The county campaign ends with two home days at Old Whitgiftians Cricket Club on Sunday 7th and 21st June.
Hannah Jones’ side finished fifth in a league of nine in last year’s competition with Warwickshire, the champions, claiming just three more points. Surrey finished eighth in Division One of the 50 over equivalent competition, which will not take place this year.
The Hundred and a regionalised competition will follow this while England Women’s schedule for the upcoming summer is yet to be announced.
