Laurie Evans and Chris Jordan were awarded a Surrey County Cap ahead of yesterday’s quarter-final, in recognition of their contributions to Surrey.
Evans developed in the Surrey pathway and graduated from the Academy in 2007, making his debut for the team that year. He left the Club in 2010, but returned 10 years later as one of the most dynamic white ball cricketers in the game.
The right-hander has scored more than 2,000 T20 runs for Surrey and is now the third-highest run-scorer in the format for the Three Feathers.
All-rounder Jordan also made his debut in 2007, having come through the Surrey Academy and played for Surrey for five years before leaving to join Sussex. He went on to represent England in all three formats and is the country’s second-highest T20 wicket-taker, also winning the 2022 T20 World Cup with the Three Lions.
Jordan returned to captain Surrey in 2022, leading the club to successive visits to Finals Day.
Both of them received their county caps, in front of the Micky Stewart Members’ Pavilion, from Alec Stewart ahead of Surrey’s Vitality Blast quarter-final at the Kia Oval.
