15. Dan Worrall

Taking 139 wickets at less than 20 each over three seasons, Dan Worrall was as responsible for Surrey’s hat-trick of County Championship titles between 2022-24 as anyone. Arriving after a spell at Gloucestershire – having played three ODIs for his native Australia – Worrall’s command of swing and seam meant few batsmen looked forward to a trip to the Kia Oval.

14. Dom Sibley

A triple century in 2025 underlined Dom Sibley’s growing authority. He was prolific as an academy player and then – after a spell at Warwickshire – returned to partner Rory Burns at the top of the order. Sibley approaches 10,000 first-class runs overall and snaps up his share of chances in the slips while 22 Tests for England could yet be augmented.

13. Jason Roy

A World Cup winner in 2019, Jason Roy’s presence in any white ball team has frequently intimidated opposition bowlers and brought T20 crowds at the Kia Oval to their feet. His T20 strike rate of 146 is awesome. Roy has played 116 ODIs, 64 T20s and five Tests for

England, almost 5,000 first-class runs underlining his all-round contribution to Surrey in the longer game.

12. Mark Butcher

Had it not been for injuries, Mark Butcher’s chance to steer Surrey’s fortunes in the 21st century would have been greater. His stylish top-order batting – scoring 12,181 of his 17,870 first-class runs for the county, appearances rationed by 71 Tests – set the tone for the aggressive strokemakers who followed. As captain, he led Surrey back into County Championship Division One.

11. Sam Curran

A debutant at just 17, Sam Curran showed a wisdom beyond his years and has backed it up with performances both for county and country. Now Surrey’s T20 captain, white ball prowess has limited his Championship appearances but the team is always stronger for his presence in all formats and at 28 there is every reason to believe that the best is yet to come.
