5. ALICE CAPSEY

The youngest player to make either of our lists. Still just 21, it feels as though Alice Capsey has been around for years. She made her Surrey debut at the age of 14 and by the age of 17, she was crucial to winning teams as she won two trophies in 2021 – the Charlotte Edwards Cup for the South East Stars and the inaugural Hundred for the Oval Invincibles. International recognition followed the following summer, which meant that Surrey and Stars appearances were few and far between before the professional team of 2025 started.

4. EBONY RAINFORD-BRENT

The impact that Ebony Rainford-Brent has had on Surrey County Cricket Club cannot be overstated. As a player, she came through the Pathway system from the under-11s to debut for the first team in 2000. A year later, she made her England debut and went on to be a part of two World Cup wins in 2009 as well as the Ashes retention. Capable of bowling with ferocious pace and chipping in with crucial lower-order runs, she also led a young Surrey side as a senior player and captain. Post playing career, Ebony has since gone on to become the first ever Director of Women’s Cricket at Surrey, been on the ECB Board, set up ACE and become a leading broadcaster on the game.

3. BRYONY SMITH

Surrey captain Bryony Smith has seen it all at the Three Feathers. She debuted for the Club as a 17-year-old and has played for the county team, Surrey Stars in the KSL, South East Stars in the regional comps and then captained the Club’s first ever professional team to Vitality Blast success in the first season. Her aggressive style of batting at the top of the order has become a blueprint for how the South East Stars and now Surrey have played their ultra-aggressive style of cricket, and she continues to lead from the front for Surrey.

2. MARIZANNE KAPP

The greatest all-rounder of a generation played for three seasons at the Surrey Stars. Kapp took 25 wickets and scored 396 runs across the three seasons of KSL cricket. The South African international went on to star for the Oval Invincibles, winning the first two editions of the competition and playing all five seasons with the franchise. Her aggression with the ball put opposition teams under pressure from the first ball of the innings, and her ability to close games out with both bat and ball made her a nightmare for opposition teams.

1. NAT SCIVER BRUNT

The legendary all-rounder batter came through the Surrey pathway to play for the first team from 2010-2019 and has since gone on to become England’s greatest ever cricketer. She scored over 3,500 runs in the Three Feathers, including 930 runs across the three seasons of the Kia Super League. She captained the Surrey Stars to KSL success in 2018. Nat helped raise the standards of her teammates, leading the way for Surrey to produce a list of great cricketers by the time the game had reached regional status. She played her last game for Surrey in 2019, opting to play her regional cricket closer to her home up north, but the Kia Oval will always be home for one of England’s greatest ever cricketers.

The group of Surrey minds that put this list together also wanted to give a shout out to some incredibly important Surrey cricketers that deserve honourable mentions for their time and performances in the Three Feathers.

These players are Sophia Dunkley, Dani Gregory, Lizelle Lee, Aylish Cranstone, Amy Gordon, Claudie Cooper, Kirstie White, Cecily Scutt, Hannah Jones and Katherine Robson.
