Surrey’s Luke Griffiths has been called up to the England U19 squad for the second youth Test match against Australia starting tomorrow at Northampton.
The Surrey bowler made his First XI debut in this year’s Metro Bank One Day Cup against Nottinghamshire and played in five matches in the competition.
Griffiths has been part of the Surrey Player Pathway since the U12 age group. The 17-year-old is a fast hit-the-pitch style bowler who has led the Surrey U18 attack for the last two years.
The fast-bowler was part of the Surrey U18s side who recently picked up the National County T20 Cup, taking 2/13 in the final.
Griffiths started playing cricket at Farnham CC before joining Camberley, he attends Charterhouse School in Godalming.
