Surrey’s Second XI were beaten by 33 runs in a T20 Trophy fixture against Middlesex at LSE New Malden on Thursday.
Chasing 161 to win, Surrey struggled to keep with the run rate before they were eventually all out for 128 with 11 balls unused. George Ealham was the star for Surrey, making 63 from 48 balls including seven fours.
Professionals Conor McKerr (2/19), Amar Virdi (2/33) and Jade Dernbach (1/14) were the pick of the bowlers and backed up ably by Ben Townsend, Justin Broad, Nathan Barnwell and Ealham.
Ealham struggled for partners in Surrey’s response with Mark Stoneman (17) and Broad (15) the only other batters to pass double figures.
Our Seconds are next in action on Sunday 13th June when they welcome Kent to The Kia Oval. Entry is free for all spectators.
