To promote next summer’s competition – which will bring the biggest stars of world cricket to the country, and both the semi-finals as well as England’s last group game against New Zealand are set to take place in south London – the ICC and the ECB have launched a new marketing campaign called ‘Catch the Spirit’.

Featuring world-class stars such as Australia’s Ellyse Perry, West Indies’ Hayley Matthews, England’s Lauren Bell and India’s Richa Ghosh, as well as a special cameo from cricket legend Andrew Flintoff, the campaign aims to spotlight the excitement that builds in the host country when a World Cup comes to town.

Over 33 matches and across 24 days, the tournament that opens on 12 June at Edgbaston, Birmingham, will offer hundreds of thousands of fans the chance to see the world’s best cricketers in action in south London and across the UK. The final will be staged at Lord’s on 5 July.

With demand already high across all matches, fans are encouraged to secure tickets early for what promises to be a historic moment in women’s sport.

Surrey and England batter, Sophia Dunkley, said: “Next summer is going to be the biggest ever in women’s cricket! Home World Cups don’t come around too often so it’s super special to be having one next year – particularly with games at The Oval. There is nothing quite like playing there. It’s a ground that creates magic every time, from the fans and the team – we’re so up for it!”
