All-rounder Emma Jones will leave Surrey to join The Blaze

Before Surrey, Jones was part of the South East Stars, making her debut in 2021. She has since went on to play 11 matches for Surrey in the new era of professional domestic cricket.

A powerful middle order batter, Jones has a strike rate of 127.51 in T20 cricket and 104.00 in List A cricket. Her highest score in List A cricket is the 141 she smashed against Essex this month.

In the shorter format, she smashed 88 not out in Surrey’s County Cup quarter-final victory over Durham at Guildford.

Capable of bowling with high pace, Jones has recently been part of the ECB’s Pace Programme. The programme looks to develop young seam bowlers in the women’s game.

Emma Calvert, Director of Women’s Cricket at Surrey CCC said: “Emma has really grown as a cricketer since her time at Surrey. Her commitment to training and development has been fantastic to witness.

“Whilst it’s a shame to see Emma go, I understand the desire for young players to explore other opportunities elsewhere.

“I’d like to thank Emma for her contribution to both Surrey and the South East Stars, and I look forward to seeing what the future brings her.”

Emma Jones said: “Being part of Surrey has been such an incredible experience early in my career.

“I’ve had the opportunity to learn so much from my teammates, while also having access to incredible coaches and facilities. These have played a massive part in shaping the cricketer and person I am today, and I’ll always be grateful for that.

“Deciding to move away from Surrey and the friends I’ve made was by no means easy, but I am now looking forward to what lies ahead.

“Thank you to everyone who has played a part in my career so far, and I hope we can do it again in the future.”
