Somerset 2nd XI completed a nine-wicket victory over Surrey 2nd XI on the fourth day of the Second XI Championship at Taunton Vale Sports Club.
Resuming on 31/1 after bowling Surrey out for 354, Somerset needed just 52 runs for victory after the hosts had declared on 539/8 in their first innings.
Somerset made light work of the target, after reaching the 31/1 at the close of play on Day 3 before returning on Friday morning to finish the job in just three overs. Will Smeed led the chase with an assured unbeaten 36 from 20 balls, striking five fours and a six, while Savin Perera finished unbeaten on 15 from 25 deliveries.
Nikhil Gorantla and Alfie Haxton left Taunton Vale with centuries to their names after reaching the milestone in 127 and 203 balls respectively.
Surrey 2nd XI return to the west country once again next Tuesday as they take on Gloucestershire at Thornbury CC.
