Surrey’s Tilly Corteen-Coleman, Sophia Dunkley and Dan Lawrence have been nominated for the prestigious 2026 PCA Awards
Spin bowler Tilly Corteen-Coleman has enjoyed another exceptional year, leading to her nomination for Toyota PCA Women’s Young Player of the Year award. The highly-rated 18-year-old has spent much of the summer with England but has performaned brilliantly for Surrey when not on international duty. She took 13 wickets in The Hundred for Southern Brave, cementing herself as one of the most exciting spin bowlers in world cricket. She is joined in the nominations by Essex’s Jodi Grewcock and Charley Phillips.
Surrey and England batter Sophia Dunkley has been nominated for the Toyata PCA Women’s Player of the Year award. Like Tilly, Dunkley has spent much of the summer with England, meaning appearances for Surrey were limited. She scored 301 runs from her nine matches in the Hundred, just 14 short of the top run-scorer in the competition. Dunkley is nominated alongside Hampshire’s Maia Bouchier, Somerset’s Sophie Luff and Durham’s Mady Villiers.
Dan Lawrence has been nominated for the PCA Men’s Player of the Year award. Lawrence has enjoyed a standout year for Surrey that led to his Test recall for England’s September’s series with Pakistan. Lawrence has scored 843 Rothesay County Championship runs from 15 innings at an average of 60.21. His standout moment of the year was his week against Hampshire in June. He hit 94 not out on the Friday nights Vitality Blast action, before striking 218 and 101 in the following Championship match. Lawrence is up against Nottinghamshire’s Joe Clarke, Yorkshire’s George Hill and Somerset’s Craig Overton.
The awards take place in London on Wednesday 30 September.
