After playing competitively for the first time this summer, South East Stars have now added two permanent members of support staff to their ranks.
Regional Director of Women’s Cricket Richard Bedbrook has appointed Tom Lister as Senior Regional Talent Manager & Lettie Hadley as Team Operations Manager.
Both assisted Bedbrook and Jonathan Batty, who acted as Head Coach for the 2020 campaign, throughout this year’s Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy and will now take on more responsibility as South East Stars look to grow women’s and girl’s cricket at all levels in the Surrey & Kent region.
Speaking on the appointments, Bedbrook said: “I’m delighted to be able to welcome Tom & Lettie to the staff at South East Stars. It is vital to the future success of the South East Stars at elite and academy levels that we have people who understand women’s and girl’s cricket across the region.
“Tom & Lettie both have years of experience in the women’s county game in the South East and now we’ll be looking to transfer that to the regional set up.”
Lister (pictured below) has been Head Coach of Surrey Women since Bedbrook moved to his Regional Director position in 2019 but will now vacate that role. He led that side to an unbeaten 2020 season with a London Cup T20 win over Middlesex and a 50 over London Championship triumph over Middlesex, Essex & Kent.
Currently a player at Chipstead, Coulsdon & Walcountians in the Surrey Championship, Lister has been a coach with the JT Cricket Academy in recent years alongside his work with Surrey’s age groups in boy’s and girl’s cricket.
He is trained to ECB Level 4 standard; picking the brains of some of the most highly decorated coaches in the world throughout his qualifications.
Hadley (below) moves from the Surrey Cricket Foundation, where she has overseen the administration of coaching and outreach programmes since January 2019. Her new role makes her the point of contact for all off-the-field matters and logistics relating to the first team and academy.
Before joining the SCF, Hadley grew up as a Kent supporter and spent time in the Kent Academy where she played alongside several of those who represented South East Stars in this year’s Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy.
Recruitment is ongoing for the remaining staff roles with a Head Coach, Lead Physiotherapist & Lead Strength & Conditioning Coach to be named in due course.
