Sean Abbott and Chris Jordan won the Xbox ‘Power Player’ competition and took home an Xbox Series S console apiece – alongside two lucky winners who correctly predicted Surrey’s batting and bowling ‘Power Player’ – as records tumbled left, right, and centre at The Kia Oval during this summer’s Vitality Blast.
Abbott’s exhilarating innings against Kent – the joint-fastest century in the competition’s history – of 110 not out from just 41 balls secured the top spot in the batting leaderboard for the Australian all-rounder, while Chris Jordan’s match-winning 4/21 against Glamorgan were the best figures for a Surrey player at The Kia Oval, making the skipper our bowling ‘Power Player’ of the tournament.
Steven Cochrane and Rachel Sandison are the fans who put on their thinking caps to make the perfect predictions, winning an Xbox Series S console each. Steven foresaw Jordan taking 4 wickets for 21 runs and gave an exact prediction, while Rachel put her faith in Abbott and was just one run out with a guess of 111 – the closest of any entrant.
The incredible 177-run partnership between Will Jacks and Laurie Evans in the run-fest against Middlesex propelled both the openers into the batting leaderboard. Jacks, with his blistering knock of 96 off 45 balls, finished in the second spot, and Evans, who contributed with 85 rapid runs off 37 balls, took the third place.
Following Jordan in the bowling charts were Will Jacks and Sunil Narine. Jacks’ 2/7 against Kent in the first home game of the season placed him in the second spot, while Narine’s masterful spell of 2/18 from four overs against Sussex saw him finish as third in the list.
This season, Surrey CCC and Xbox teamed up to offer fans and players the chance to win a brand new Xbox Series S console. To claim the prize, fans had to guess the Xbox ‘Power Player’ of the season – by correctly predicting which Surrey batter will get the highest individual score, and what that score will be, or which Surrey bowler will post the best figures, and what those will be, in a T20 Vitality Blast match at The Kia Oval. The two winning Surrey players were also promised an Xbox Series S console thanks to the team at Xbox.
