Surrey County Cricket Club are proud to announce the opening of the David Stewart Library at The Kia Oval.
The library was officially opened during Lunch on Day One of the third Test between England and South Africa, on Thursday September 12th.
Rain stopped play that day, but it didn’t stop Surrey paying their respects to one of the most influential figures in the history of the Club.
Located in the 175 Suite on the first floor of the Galadari Stand, the library is a tribute to David Stewart OBE, who served as Chairman, Treasurer and President of Surrey County Cricket Club.
The Stewart family were well represented at the unveiling ceremony and former Prime Minister The Rt Hon Sir John Major said a few words in tribute to David ahead of his portrait being unveiled.
For members wishing to visit the library, the 175 Suite can be accessed along the 2nd floor corridor of the Pavilion.
