Surrey’s Ben Geddes has been selected in the 13-man squad for the First-Class County Select XI’s three-day match against West Indies at Beckenham starting on Wednesday 3 July.

Geddes, 22, who came through the Surrey Talent Pathway and first represented the Club at under-9 level, made his senior debut in all competitions for Surrey in 2021.

Of late, the right-handed top-order batter has been in fine form in red-ball cricket for Surrey’s Second XI. Fresh off a cracking century against Glamorgan – his second of the campaign – Geddes has compiled 396 runs so far at an average of over 56 this season.

The FCC Select XI squad features upcoming players from across 11 first-class counties and provides an opportunity to test themselves against international opposition.

ECB Men’s Performance Director, Ed Barney, said: “We’re delighted to have selected a high-potential group that we know will thrive against the West Indies. It is a brilliant opportunity for some of the most talented players to show their strengths as future stars of the game. We are looking forward to seeing them develop, perform and enjoy the occasion.”

FCC Select XI squad: Farhan Ahmed (Nottinghamshire), Sonny Baker (Somerset), Harry Duke (Yorkshire), Bertie Foreman (Sussex), Ben Geddes (Surrey), Josh Hull (Leicestershire), Eddie Jack (Hampshire), Will Luxton (Yorkshire), Ben McKinney (Durham), Jamal Richards (Essex), Hamza Shaikh (Warwickshire), Harry Singh (Lancashire), John Turner (Hampshire).

All thirteen selected players will be allowed to feature in the fixture against West Indies.
