England’s all-time leading WIT20 run scorer, Danni Wyatt-Hodge will remain with the Three-Feathers after extending her deal with Surrey.

The right-handed batter has had a stunning start to the season at Surrey and is currently the leading run scorer in the women’s Vitality Blast, with 372 runs in just eight innings.

Wyatt-Hodge’s trademark attacking style has been too much for the bowlers on the county circuit and she struck a devastating 74* off 36 balls as Surrey defeated Durham by 9 wickets at the Kia Oval. She also batted brilliantly for England in the recent WIT20 at the Kia Oval, making a fine 66 as England won a final ball thriller.

In the Women’s Vitality Blast, Surrey sit top of the table with four games to go, including two fixtures at the Kia Oval: with a double-header against Somerset on Sunday 13 July before the final game of the competition is a standalone fixture against Warwickshire under the lights on Friday 18 July.

Danni Wyatt-Hodge said, “This last year at Surrey has been so much fun. Being welcomed with open arms has allowed me the freedom to play my game in the best way possible. The facilities at the Kia Oval are outstanding and it already feels like home.

“The coaching staff and girls have so much to offer, and I can’t wait to continue to contribute.”

Emma Calvert, Surrey’s Director of Women’s Cricket, said “Having such an experienced player in our squad, like Danni, has been a real pleasure. Not only has she brought an abundance of skill and quality within her game but taken the time to share her expertise with staff and players.

“She is a real example of what it is to be a part of the Surrey family.”
