Surrey all-rounder Will Jacks feels he has everything in place to shine for Hobart Hurricanes in this year’s Big Bash League.

After a stellar 2020 in the Vitality Blast for Surrey, Jacks will join up with former Surrey Head Coach Michael Di Venuto in Tasmania for the entirety of the competition down under.

Having completed his two-week quarantine upon arrival in Australia, he’s now in Hobart ahead of Thursday’s opener with Sydney Sixers.

Jacks scored 309 runs and took 13 wickets during Surrey’s run to this year’s Vitality Blast final. Now, ahead of his first stint as overseas player in a prestigious competition, Jacks is ready to shine in Australia.

Speaking to Mercury in Australia, Jacks said: “I have got my game plan now and I know what I need to do to be successful.

“Hopefully I can take that into this tournament, it is different grounds, different groups of players but hopefully I can settle quick.

“I have been here a couple of times, I have played grade cricket in Perth a couple of years ago and I was on the Lions’ tour here last year.

“Obviously it is not ideal only having two or three days training, but I just have to make sure I do what I need to do and be specific in my training.”

UK viewers can watch Jacks in action for Hobart Hurricanes throughout the BBL on BT Sport.
