Job Overview

As Head of Marketing, your role is to create, deliver and lead fully integrated marketing strategies to drive brand message and increased revenue across international and domestic tickets, retail, membership, hospitality and conference and events.

You will provide inspirational leadership and development of a diverse marketing team covering marketing, fan engagement, brand and design. In addition, you will ensure that the marketing department is successfully integrated with all key areas of the business.

A key focus in this role will be growing a diverse fanbase, building strong brand awareness and developing fan affinity to increase both retention and acquisition.

General Duties

  • Write and deliver marketing strategies for commercial areas of the Club (such as T20 Tickets, International Tickets, Membership, Hospitality, Conference and Events and Retail) with a focus on propensity modelling, tactical campaigns, audience segmentation and targets
  • Ensure that all fans have an incredible experience when coming to The Kia Oval on a match-day, working alongside the Fan Experience Manager to do so
  • Manage a diverse marketing team ensuring that their performance is reviewed regularly against key objectives and that they remain ambitious
  • Work with the Sponsorship team and Commercial Director to deliver sponsor activations both in-ground and digitally, and ensure that partner reports are detailed and accurate
  • Own agency relationships – where applicable – to ensure maximum efficiency and highest quality
  • Monitor brand guidelines usage within the Club, and have sign-off for all branded materials. As part of this, work with the Club’s Graphic Designer to ensure brand standards
  • Accountable for the management of marketing budgets for all media buy spend including outdoor, paid search, social, display, direct mail and SEO
  • Set long-term product mix and pricing strategies for general admission tickets and membership
  • Provide weekly reports on sales and marketing activity for senior management, and monthly reports for the Management Board
  • Analyse the performance of marketing campaigns to ascertain return on investment critique strategies and inform future decision making
  • Lead on the strategic growth of the Club’s database, ensuring that data capture is maximised and a diverse audience base is developed
  • Manage and have overall responsibility for the Club website: KiaOval.com, working with the Communications team on output.

Essential Requirements

  • Substantial and relevant event ticket sales marketing experience (either in house or agency).
  • Be a strategic marketer with an in-depth knowledge and understanding of our customers and supporters to be able to effectively market our products and services
  • Ability to use data and insight to inform marketing strategy and planning
  • A track record in building effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders
  • Demonstrable track record in managing agencies across the marketing mix
  • Well organised, able to juggle multiple projects, a fast learner with strong time management skills.
  • Natural and collaborative leader
  • Experience of leading, managing and developing a team
  • Strong financial acumen
  • Proven track record In delivering impactful marketing campaigns
  • Awareness of Data Protection, Privacy and Governance principles, e.g. GDPR

Desirable Attributes

  • Familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM systems
  • Worked within a sports environment
  • Marketing related qualification or equivalent.
