You will be a key person in implementing Surrey’s EDI plan. You will help unlock opportunities that empower people to say that “Cricket is a game for me”

General Duties

Working alongside the Cricket Participation Manager to support and deliver inclusion & diversity programmes within the county. This includes:

  • Project lead our Street Child United cricket and workplace mentoring programme
  • Project lead on our Vauxhall Activities Loop programme and develop similar projects around inner London boroughs
  • Support the delivery and implementation of the ECB Core Cities Programme
  • Work alongside the Chance to Shine Street Participation Officer to develop and produce a Social Action plan, engaging with young children across our 15 x Youth and Young Adults programmes to bring this to life
  • Work with predominantly African Caribbean and South Asian cricket clubs and leagues to aid their growth and development
  • Develop, support and implement Surrey’s EDI plan.
  • Project lead and develop our All Stars & Dynamos funded south London based projects recruiting children, activators, and parents
  • Deliver, support and implement the ECB City Cup Programme
  • Identify opportunities to increase and improve non-traditional playing facilities in urban areas, working alongside the London Cricket Trust, ECB and local councils
  • Work alongside local councils, network providers and community groups to influence and inspire them to use cricket a social tool for good

Essential Requirements

  • Passionate about making a difference in local communities
  • At least two years’ experience working in a sports development role either paid or voluntary.
  • Knowledge and understanding of ethnically diverse communities across London and Surrey
  • Proven track record of managing a project on time, within budget, hitting all the success factors
  • Knowledge and experience of budget control and financial management
  • Experience of working with volunteers and casual employees
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Developed influencing skills
  • Excellent time management skills. Ability to work autonomously
  • Good computer literacy, including MS office
  • Commitment to a continual professional development programme

Desirable Attributes

  • A keen interest and understanding of cricket
  • A full driving licence with access to own transport
  • Experience of writing and supporting funding applications for grant funding
