The red rose county finished second in all three competitions in 2022 and will be hoping to go one better in at least one competition in the upcoming season.

Surrey finished 25 points ahead of Lancashire last season, winning a game more. New captain and opening batter Keaton Jennings scored 1233 runs in the 2022 campaign. Tom Bailey finished top of the wicket tree last season, claiming 52 wickets at an average of 22.61.

POINTS SCORING SYSTEM

There has been a change in how points are awarded in 2023 season of the LV= Insurance County Championship.

Teams score 16 points for a win and five points for a draw. Bonus points are also awarded for scoring runs and taking wickets. To find out how bonus points are calculated, click here.

Ahead of the 2023 season, it was agreed that the points awarded to each team in a draw would be reduced from eight to five.
